Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) North America

Suppliers that are providing productive material to Tower Automotive North American locations are required to use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as a standard means of receiving our forecasting and shipping requirements, as well as providing Tower with advanced shipping information. Suppliers are also required to properly label all material shipped into our facilities using our standard AIAG bar code label format. For those Suppliers who are not currently able to meet Tower Automotive's requirements, Tower Automotive offers a web-based solution that the Supplier can subscribe to for a nominal fee.

What should suppliers do next?

After reviewing Tower's EDI and bar code specifications, including our web option, Suppliers should go to www.trinary.com/portals/tower and complete the "Tower Supplier EDI Questionnaire." On the questionnaire, suppliers must provide complete information, including a commitment to exchanging traditional EDI or using the web form product.
