Challenge: Assume global project responsibility for the design and manufacture of very complex, dimension-critical frames to very tight tolerances; locate very near to the customer assembly plants and sequence components for delivery and final assembly.
Solution: Tower applied its global engineering, analysis and development resources in the United States, Japan and India to meet the customer's challenging requirements. The Smyrna, Tennessee, plant that supplies the frames for the Nissan Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier has achieved zero PPM defects and 100 percent on-time sequenced delivery for a period of over 12 months.
Products: Tower supplies fully-boxed frames as well as body stampings, center pillars, gussets and other stampings for all Nissan SUVs and trucks produced in North America. Tower facilities in North America also produce components for export to Nissan assembly plants in Europe and Asia.
